Things You Used to Say

You snooze, you lose.

The early bird gets the worm.

In response to someone saying "Hey" as in "Hey, you took my cookie":
Hey is for horses, and I don't nay.

In response to "it isn't fair":
Life isn't fair.

Or, an occasional variation:
Tough luck.

Never trust a man with a ponytail.
This is making me laugh now.  I never questioned it!  I even say it myself.  But, what was this one about, Dad?

And the absolute most oft used:
On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate [insert anything here]?

  1. In addition, we have:
    - Almost isn't good enough.
    - Two wrongs don't make a right.
    - Because I said so.

  2. Ugh, I had forgotten about all of those and they were all so frustrating :)

  3. Remembered another one: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Or the annoyed variation: If you don't have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut.
